Program Description UTP Stage II: Computing Science is equivalent to the first year of SFU's Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) degree program. It provides the foundation for further study in many aspects of computing to help you choose your area of specialization for your undergraduate degree.
This program is meant for students with a minimum of a Grade 11 education or equivalent and an IELTS overall score of 5.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in Reading and Writing and 5.0 in Speaking and Listening or TOEFL overall score of 60 with a minimum of 15 in Writing, that would like to pursue a post-secondary education at Simon Fraser University. The program begins with an 8-month foundational program, including a mandatory English literacy course, followed by 12 months of a faculty-specialized academic program equivalent to the first year of university at SFU. Admission into the Simon Fraser University is not guaranteed - students must meet progression requirements as well as any program-specific entry requirements highlighted by the the University in order to gain admission.
